Sara Kirwin has spent years doing the civic work most people mean to get around to someday. Civic association president, board chair, grassroots initiatives, the volunteer who ends up running the thing nobody else wanted to run. She knows what it takes to keep a community association functioning — and exactly what gets in the way.

She spent 20 years in the federal government leading digital transformation, managing multi-million dollar technology programs, serving as an Agile Scrum Master and trainer, and teaching federal employees how to actually use what they were supposed to adopt. She learned early that the technology is rarely the problem. The people — and how you bring them along — always is.

Sara holds a BCS Foundation Certificate in Artificial Intelligence, a University of Maryland AI and Career Empowerment Certificate, and is a certified AI Educator through She Leads AI. She builds with AI daily — custom GPTs, Gemini Gems, AI-powered tools — and has run AI pilots in federal environments. She doesn't teach from a textbook. She teaches from practice.

Team by Team grew out of all of it. Sara is an AI educator who works with workplace teams, civic associations, and community organizations, she built Team by Team because our civic associations, PTAs, and neighborhood groups need AI-literate people showing up to help — and right now, most don't have them. When your team leaves her workshop, they're not just better at their jobs. They're ready to bring those skills somewhere that needs them.
